Dr. Laura Mayron [she/they-ella/elle] (también conocida como Dra. Laura Mayron) is a queer scholar, poet, researcher, and writer from Maui, Hawai’i. Dr. Mayron obtained their PhD from Boston University in 2023 and is a graduate of Wellesley College. With extensive pedagogical training in both Spanish-language and writing/composition, Laura is a teacher across fields, specializing in university courses such as “Magic and Monsters in Hispanic Film,” “Hispanic New York City,” among others. In her spare time, she enjoys singing flamenco, exploring the cities of Spain, and petting every cat they see. She currently resides in Granada, Spain.

Laura’s research interests include Federico García Lorca, the queer body, the Generation of ’27, Hispanic New York City, surrealism and modernism, magical realism and speculative fiction, and queer and feminist literature from Spain and Latin America.
